Optometrists at Mayo Clinic are using a type of lens originally developed in the late 1800s for some people who can’t wear normal contacts. They’re called scleral lenses and they’re helping many folks with bad vision see.

Get some hydrating eye drops and drop them in your eyes when the feel a bit uncomfortable. or drop a drop of it in your contact before putting it on your eye and youll have some of the solution between your contact and eye and it may be a little more comfortable for you.

These lenses have given me improved vision but sometimes they feel uncomfortable and the quality of vison is blurrey.I have been told by my optition to try to move them while on the eye to allow for tears and oxygen to get to the eyes surface.. I have only had them for a couple of monthsWhen they are good they are great but the soreness and inconsistant vision is concerning. Any ideas anyone…. THANKs

Yes, it’s pretty hard to put them in the first time. I must admit, my eyes became red and I felt a little sick. It’s easy to get them out. Just practice.

What I really want is to get the whites of my eyes whiter. Its like when I rub them or get something into then they scar and get brown. I know its because of melanin in the sclera but is there any way to get them clean and white?
